Jean Louis Sabaji
Jean-Louis Sabaji was named after the great Scherrer by his late father, Jean Sabaji, who was one of the pillars of Lebanon’s glitz fashion scene during the 80s. Jean-Louis conveys the tradition he inherited with his own sensitivity for bold glamour, interpreting classical Couture with an outlook all together contemporary. After graduating from LAU with a BS in graphic design in 2008; a year later, Jean-Louis was successfully admitted to the degree of Master in Fashion Design with distinction from Domus Academy-Milano, in 2009. Putting his career first, he came back to Lebanon to launch his own brand. His first collection came out in the summer of 2012; step-by-step Jean-Louis began discovering his identity by building his signature designs and dresses. Many of the ‘petites mains’ he relies on today have been at the Sabaji ateliers long before Jean-Louis was born; ‘savoir-faire’ invaluable and irreplaceable. Jean-Louis finds inspiration everywhere but he developed this loyal relationship with Mother Nature where he always finds what he’s looking for and creates powerful techniques and material work with the latest high-tech textiles. The brand has been present internationally on the red carpet in Hollywood and Cannes with Major success dressing Beyonce, Aishwayra Rai, Mary J. Blidge, Natalia Vodianova, Jasmine Tookes and many more.
