Asli Jackson
The Brit-Turkish designer, Fashion artist and creative director is being honored in İstanbul with an inspirational work at the Santral Museum. The exhibition include installation work and fashion film. "under construction" is an continuous interactive project. One of her works on display containing "reawaken" decomposed dress ,died and distressed fabrics become rotten it is to do with an emotional break down. The dresses which she makes caused a sensation and gave the a taste of avant-garde design to come. Her innovative use of materials, flawless yet imperfectionist pattern cutting and open minded to new technology. The innovative designer, inspired by surroundings and creative user of cutting-egde and technology in her designs and presentations, Asli jackson routinely pushes at the bounds of fashion. Designers at Tomtom , During the high school she moved to England to complete her studies in art & design. Then finally she graduated from University of the arts in 2004. Her endless talent and controversial ideas acclaimed her a work placement with Vivienne Westwood & Alexander McQueen She was so inspired by London’s diverse uniqueness and fell in love with the city and carried on living. In the mean while she had also began designing and producing her own bespoke one-off constructive collections of sensuality and aesthetics ,of luxury and drama and sold at different shops in England and Europe. As a second design line she also re-contextuaslise Garderobe Surgery second hand clothing and produced a range of couture inspired beautiful dresses made from recycled garments. Later in her career Asli collaborated with various charity shops such Oxfam and cancer research and sold the garmets at the Londons’s west end shops. And yet her clothes say something completely different.
