House of Kind
House of Kind is the inspired creation of Sonica Beckman, the dynamic Founder and CEO. The brand was established with three clear purposes in mind: to foster a sisterhood in the workplace (because if there’s an old boys’ club, it’s high time women had a club of their own); to demonstrate that kindness in work is not just a nice-to-have but absolutely essential, and to provide luxurious, non-boxy workwear that doesn’t come with sky-high prices.
Sonica firmly believes in leading with kindness, a philosophy she successfully embraced while managing legal teams for international retailers. She knows that something truly magical happens when women come together to uplift and support each other: “We are, after all, of the same kind, we are womankind.” If only there were a simple way to find and connect with like-minded, supportive women.
A qualified solicitor in England and Wales and a proud mother of two, Sonica has worked with some of the world’s largest retail operators. At just 31, she was appointed Head of Legal for a multi-billion-dollar conglomerate, an incredible achievement. However, her journey has not been without its challenges. Like many other women, with each promotion, she found herself navigating the ‘old boys’ club,’ feeling the added pressure to conform to behaviors often deemed necessary for leadership success. Determined to challenge the status quo and drawing on her vast retail experience, Sonica left the corporate world at the end of 2023. She then assembled her Dream Team and began creating House of Kind, a pioneering brand designed to unite and empower women in the workplace and beyond through fashion that is both distinctive and meaningful. It’s a legacy she hopes her children, especially her daughter, will one day be proud of.
House of Kind clothing is more than just attire, it represents unique, high-quality, yet affordable statement pieces that transcend fashion. Each piece serves as a reminder of the power of kindness in the workplace. Wearing House of Kind is a signal that the wearer believes in supporting the growth of other women and carries herself according to the House Rules, which are featured on the swing tag of each garment. The brand’s signature piece, The TrailBLAZER™ (a blazer for trailblazers), comes in various styles but always retains the distinct House of Kind look and key details, making it instantly recognizable and reassuring that the wearer is supported by the sisterhood. The collections are thoughtfully designed in London and are available in sizes XS to XXL, ensuring every woman finds her perfect fit.
At House of Kind, kindness is not just a buzzword, it’s the core philosophy of the brand. House of Kind truly believes that ‘Kindness is our superpower©’, and they are eager to share this superpower, empowering women to pass the magic on.
The brand’s mission is to create a sisterhood through clothing, to help advance women’s rights and gender equality in the workplace. In recognition of this mission, Sonica has been nominated for 40 Under Forty UK. House of Kind has also proudly partnered with two charities from its inception: Dress For Success London and the Mission Wonder Woman Foundation, firmly believing that no woman should be left behind.
